TNP Week 4 Recap

Vermont Stays Perfect While The South Becomes A Three-Team War

One month into the 2026 season, only one team remains unbeaten.

The Vermont Lake Monsters survived a relatively quiet Week 4 to improve to 4-0, becoming the lone perfect team left in The National Pastime. Nate Bishop's club didn't post one of the week's headline scores, but consistency continues to separate the Lake Monsters from the rest of the Atlantic Division. Vermont now owns the league's best record and enters Week 5 as the team everyone is chasing.

The biggest performance of Week 4 belonged to Stephen Miller's Portland Sea Dogs, who erupted for a league-best 38.5 runs. After opening the season with just 18 runs in Week 1, Portland has improved every single week and now sits tied for second place in the Atlantic Division at 2-2. No team in the league is trending upward faster.

While Vermont owns the best record, the league scoring lead now belongs to the Gwinnett Stripers. Greg Miller's squad posted 36.5 runs in Week 4 and moved to 3-1 with a league-high 133.5 total runs. The South Division has quickly become one of the toughest divisions in TNP, with Gwinnett, Carolina, and South Bend all sitting at 3-1 and separated by just 20.5 runs.

The Great Lakes Division may be even tighter. The Lansing Lugnuts have quietly climbed into first place at 3-1 and now sit second overall in league scoring with 126.5 runs. However, the division remains packed, with Erie, Kane County, and Lehigh Valley all within one game of the lead. Four teams remain legitimate contenders entering Week 5.

The Frontier Division remains the most balanced division in the league. Every team is either 2-2 or 1-3, with just 18.5 runs separating first from last. The Sacramento River Cats currently lead the division despite an even 2-2 record, while Omaha, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Quad City all remain within striking distance.

Week 4 also delivered one of the season's biggest surprises. The Erie SeaWolves, fresh off a league-best 46-run performance in Week 3, crashed to just 18.5 runs. Despite the stumble, Erie still sits at 3-1 and remains firmly in the conversation.

At the bottom of the standings, the Jamestown Jammers finally broke through for their first victory under new owner Norah Riney, while Fort Wayne, Florence, Durham, and Lady Lake continue searching for momentum after difficult starts to the season.

As the calendar gets later into June, the standings are beginning to take shape. Vermont remains perfect, the South Division is becoming a dogfight, and nearly every division race remains wide open. Four weeks down, and the road to the inaugural TNP championship is only getting more competitive.
