Sign Up:



To sign up for the Hardcourt Hoops University, visit the Sign Up Page on the main page at TheFantasySportSite.com. Fill out all required fields and we will respond and put you on the waiting list for the game.



Team names:



All players must select a team name. Team Names will be any Division I or Division II school with a basketball team.



Schedule and Divisions:



Teams will play each week (Weeks 1-3 as non-conference games, 4-9 as conference games and week 10 as a conference tournament). Weeks 11 & 12 will be the Championship and Play-in Tournaments.


Teams will be historically split into five six team conferences (based on a 30 team league).



Picks:



Making Weekly Picks

You will choose one team per Conference (ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, Mtn West, PAC12, and SEC) with your total dollar amount spent to be at or under $24.Teams are ranked dollar wise from $6 - $1 based on NET.


Weekly picks will be due each week by Thursday night at 11:59PM and will be for the games to be played on the upcoming Friday through Thursday. Weekly Picks are sent via the picksheet page.


Changing Weekly Picks

If you wish to make a change to your picks, you must do so before the Sunday, 11:59 pm deadline. No picks can be changed after the deadline has passed.


Missing Picks

No late picks will be accepted. If your picks are not in by the Sunday, 11:59 pm deadline, you will forfeit your game for the week. If you will not have access to a computer in time to enter weekly picks, please email us before hand to discuss options.




scoring:



Weekly Points

The Win/Loss Record of your selected teams combined for the current week (from Mon-Sun) will be your weekly score. Teams will be ranked based on the amount of total wins per week of their selected teams. The top 1/4 of teams would earn 3 wins, the next 1/4 2 win, 1 loss, the next 1/4 1 win 2 losses and the bottom 1/4 3 losses.


Conference & Non-Conference Games

There will be 9 weeks of regular season games. Weeks 1-3 will be non-conference games. Weeks 4-9 will count towards your Conference Standings. The 2 teams in the conference with the most wins that week earn 2 wins, the next 2 teams earn 1 win, 1 loss, the bottom 2 teams earn 2 losses. Week 10 will be the conference tournament.


Scoring Discrepancies and Errors

If you find a problem with the scoring for a week, you must let us know immediately. All scores become final once the first game of the next week begins, or after 7 days. Score checking will be done by two to three officials each week to ensure that each team's correct score and weekly points are counted.


Determining Teams Making the Championship Tournament and Play-in Tournament

The top team in each conference will earn a spot in the championship tournament, with the remaining spots being filled by conference tournament champions and at-large teams. The bottom (2) at-large teams will participate in a play-in game before the championship tournament begins.Through the playoff, (4) teams will advance to the Finals.


Determining an Overall Champion

The 2023-24 Hardcourt Hoops University Champion will be the winner of the Championship Tournament.


Other Realistic Add-ins

The teams not invited to the Championship tournament will play in an "NIT" type tournament to end the season. Several teams will be invited to play in tournaments for week 2 of the season.




tie breaking:



Weekly ties would be broken by winning pct, then amount of $ spent that week, then total weekly wins earned to date.


Tournament ties will be broken in the same manner as weekly ties, with the final tie breaker being higher ranking.
